The Court of Arbitration for Sport today ruled that the BOA’s by-law does not comply with the code set out by the World Anti-Doping Agency.
And BOA chairman Lord Moynihan confirmed that sprinter Dwain Chambers and cyclist David Millar are now eligible to be selected by their sports, and would be treated the same as all the other Team GB members if selected.
Lord Moynihan said: "The BOA are clearly very disappointed in the outcome. This will be seen as a hollow victory for Wada.
"We must now move the discussion forward. We will seek far-reaching reform, calling for tougher and more realistic sanctions; a minimum of four years including one Games."
