THE owners of a launderette held a 24-hour ironathon to raise money for a charity close to their hearts. Mandy and Terry Black, of Rutland Laundry in Melton Road, Oakham, invited customers to bring their laundry down to the shop on Saturday to help them support the Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland Air Ambulance.
A team of 14 started ironing at 1pm and spent the next 24 hours getting the creases out of clothes. The event raised £656.50 for the air ambulance.
Mandy said: “My brother and my husband’s uncle were both airlifted by the ambulance. We feel indebted to them for the work they do.
