Poet Laureate Carol Ann Duffy shortlisted for Scottish literary prize
POET Laureate Carol Ann Duffy is one of 20 writers shortlisted for Scotland's largest literary prize.
The Glasgow-born poet's latest collection The Bees has been nominated in the poetry section of the Scottish Mortgage Investment Trust Book Awards 2012, run in partnership with Creative Scotland.
The awards recognise and reward the literary talent of authors from or resident in Scotland or those whose book is of particular Scottish interest.
Other nominees are Jane Harris for her novel Gillespie And I, Bella Bathurst for The Bicycle Book and Simon Stephenson for his first book Let Not The Waves Of The Sea.
