Launched at Cersaie 2026, The Code concept and a line-up of fresh innovations from VitrA Tiles were shown to industry professionals, guided by the brand’s Material Intelligence approach.
Bologna, Italy: VitrA Tiles exhibited at Cersaie 2026, the international trade fair covering ceramic tile and bathroom furnishings, which Bologna, Italy hosted on September 21-25. On the stand, the company welcomed customers, architects, industry professionals and designers. Material Intelligence shaped the whole space, which served as the launch platform for the new 2027 ranges and innovations.
“Every material has a code. Material Intelligence deciphers it.” The line sits at the heart of how VitrA Tiles approaches design, with naturally available materials reinterpreted by blending design expertise with research and advanced technology. The brand builds on nature’s aesthetic and technical potential, turning those materials into distinctive, original surfaces that spark new ideas across contemporary architecture.

The Code in Three Languages
Under The Code umbrella sit three design languages, expressed as the new Metacode, Resincode and Geocode ranges, all on display for Cersaie visitors at the company’s booth.
Resincode takes its lead from natural concrete, echoing the mineral-rich, porous feel of the material with surface effects built up in layers, plus natural transitions, giving today’s interiors a refined, balanced and minimalist finish. Geocode references Spanish gneiss, quartzite, marble and limestone, offering a present-day take on the diverse geological legacy of stone for ceramic surfaces, and comes in four individual surface typologies: Rio, Alba, Merano and Imperio. Metacode comprises three separate surfaces finished in tones of gold, iron and copper, transferring the soft reflections and subtle tonal transitions of patinated metal texture onto ceramic surfaces and pairing refined looks with industrial character.

Innovation Highlights
Complementing the new collections, the Cersaie 2026 line-up also featured two innovations from VitrA Tiles: V-Flex and V-Tone.
V-Flex is an adhesive-free tile installation system that relies on Ceraloc®, a locking technology from Välinge. Purpose-made side profiles lock each tile to its neighbour mechanically, enabling installation that can be up to 5 times faster than conventional bonded tile applications. It helps achieve accurate alignment and uniform grout joints, finishing with a tidy, professional look. Should the need arise, a tile can be pulled up and changed on its own, a significant advantage that makes servicing and repairs simpler. The solution adds acoustic comfort too. Target applications for V-Flex include hotels, educational facilities, store chains, offices, showrooms, retail stores and commercial spaces.

Developed to tackle shade differences arising during ceramic manufacture, V-Tone keeps colour uniform and protects design integrity from surface to surface. VitrA Tiles is still in the process of integrating V-Tone technology into its production lines.
